Lock down the engagement

After all work has been completed, the final audit has been signed-off on and key deliverables have been provided to the client, the file can be locked down.

Before you proceed, download a reference copy of the engagement to share with your clients or to keep for your own records. The reference copy is a .zip file containing PDF copies of all the documents in your engagement.

To download a reference copy, select Information () | Download reference copy.

To lock down the engagement, select the engagement title at the top-left to open the Engagement Properties dialog, then select Lockdown.

When you lock the file,

  • The lockdown status displays below the engagement title.

  • The Lockdown info option displays in the Engagement Properties dialog. This option shows an activity log with details of each lock and unlock event, such as the date, staff member and reason.

  • You and all other staff members with access can no longer modify the engagement, only view it.

You can unlock a locked engagement at any point in time, provided that you have access to it. To unlock the file, select the engagement title at the top-left to open the Engagement Properties dialog, then select Unlock.
